Swissradio Jazz

Big bands helped to overcome segregation, because many of the most famous big bands were integrated by black musicians or mixed.
They flourished through the Great Depression (1929 and the 1930s).
They served to spread some cultural patterns all over the world, along with cinema.
During World War II, they were used to lift the morale of American troops .
They provided some great musical standards. Most important: it's fabulous music.
